REIN makes products for daily care. A toothbrush first; body, hair, and home to follow. One product at a time, each earning its place before the next is begun.
The materials are chosen to outlast their fashion: bamboo, horsehair, stone, unbleached card. Nothing coated, nothing printed that does not need to be.
What we make are objects, not consumables. When unsure whether to add an element, we remove it.
Bamboo is a grass; a culm reaches full height in a single season. Horsehair has been the bristle of record for brushes far longer than nylon has existed. Both are examined in the journal.
Handles are cut from single culms and left unfinished. Bristles are cleaned, cut, and set soft. Packaging is unprinted card, 22 × 22 × 195 mm.
Two letters a year, when there is something to show. Read the journal
